Ho, Ho, Ho Meridith, and welcome back to planDisney!
The Christmas holiday is my absolute favorite time of the year at
Walt Disney World Resort. No matter how many times I visit during this magical time of the year, the decorations and festivities always take my breath away. My boys love attending
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, where they often enjoy more cookies than they should, and I love the
EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays. I am anxiously waiting for an announcement on the beautiful and heart warming
Candlelight Processional and what dates it may be available this year. If you have the opportunity to attend a show, it is a definite must-do!
One of the things I love most about the holiday decorations at Disney World is how each theme park and
Disney Resorts Collection has its own theme - its own personality. From the gorgeous carved wood, African themed tree and ornaments at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge to the old Hollywood feel at
Disney's Hollywood Studios to the elegant Victorian glass and lace feel at
Disney's Grand Floridan Resort & Spa, you can almost see the pixie dust sprinkled on every single ornament, light, and tree. Once the clock strikes midnight on Halloween, Santa's elves magically appear to help Mickey Mouse and the gang begin decorating, with
Magic Kingdom usually getting the first dose of holiday cheer.
While the decorations begin going up November 1st, there is no specific date on when they are packed away for another year. Typically that process begins after the first week in January, with the Disney resorts usually being the first to come down. Usually, they like to leave the theme park decorations in place until the Monday after the
Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend. Depending on when you plan on arriving, you should be able to enjoy at least some of the decorations through the first full week of January.
I hope you are able to visit in time to enjoy a little snow on Main Street U.S.A. If I can help with any additional planning questions, please
stop back and see me.
With pixie dust,
Margaret
