Welcome to planDisney, Duncan!
Like you, I like to accumulate
Disney Gift Cards to use during my Walt Disney World Resort vacations. Disney Gift Cards are accepted for payment just about everywhere at Walt Disney World Resort, and can also be used for in-app purchases such as
Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering in the
My Disney Experience mobile app.
Guests of
Disney Resorts Collection hotels may
charge purchases to their room account using a MagicBand, Disney MagicMobile pass, or Key to the World card. Accumulated
charges are then billed to the credit card on file every 5th day of the stay and again after check-out. You are welcome to stop by the
Front Desk of your Disney Resort Hotel to pay your balance with a gift card. I do this myself, using a Disney Gift Card to pay off my balance every few days before my credit card is charged. At this time, it is not possible to pre-load a gift card to your room folio.
Guests may store a credit or debit card (but not a gift card) in their
My Disney Experience profile to use as their default payment method. If you would like to use a Disney Gift Card instead of the default card, you'll be able to enter the gift card numbers on the checkout screen when placing mobile food orders, for
merchandise mobile checkout, and for other in-app purchases. I store my gift card numbers as a note on my phone, so I can just copy and paste the numbers rather than typing them in each time I make a purchase.
I hope that helps! If you have any additional questions, please feel free to stop by and see us again anytime.
