You're as welcome as can be at planDisney, Susan!
Giving (and getting) Disney Gift Cards is just the best! I love it because you're able to use Disney Gift Cards as a form of payment around Walt Disney World Resort, including your
Disney Resort hotel stay,
theme park tickets, and at most dining and merchandise locations. It's as if you're giving or getting the gift of magic!
Susan, although you cannot pre-load a Disney Gift Card directly into your My Disney Experience account or app, I'm happy to give you recommendations that help make my trips feel seamless.
If you create an account on
Disney Gift Card's website, you can load your Disney Gift Cards onto the site. Although the site is not a form of payment, it allows you to combine your Disney Gift Cards up to a balance of $1000. I once lost my gift card during my trip, and because I had it loaded onto the site, I was able to purchase a $25 Disney Gift Card at EPCOT and transfer the funds from my lost card onto my new gift card. Crises averted! The site also tracks where you spend your Disney Gift Card, which is helpful! You can also load your Disney eGift Cards onto the site.
Did you know that you can use your Disney Gift Card or
eGift Card as your payment method when placing
Mobile Food and Beverage Orders or using
Merchandise Mobile Checkout? Since you can't pre-load the gift cards, I like to copy and paste the card's number and its EAN in a secure place like the Notes app on my phone. Then, while placing the order, you're able to choose Disney Gift Card as your payment method. You'll be given a section where you can type in the numbers of your Disney Gift or eGift Card. This is where you can head to your Notes app, copy the information, and paste it under the required area. And then, you're done!
Additionally, if you have a Disney eGift Card, you can load it onto your smartphone's digital wallet! I love pulling mine up on my phone with a simple double click to make quick payments. If you're using an Apple device like I am, adding the card to your digital wallet is simple. You'll want to access the email you received that contains your Disney eGift Card. Then, please scroll to the bottom of the email, and you should select the option to "Add to Apple Wallet."
Wishing you an enchanting visit, Susan!
