    We live in Michigan and want to get away from the cold! Looking at Nov or Dec 09, concerned about crowds, ie: Jersey Week, Pop Warner, Thanksgiving, etc. Can go anytime either month. Also, would enjoy warmer than Michgian weather. Any suggestions?

    Michel,

    Being a neighbor of yours down here in Indiana, I totally get it! Sunshine, here we come!

    Crowds are busy the week of Thanksgiving, and from the week of Christmas through New Years Day. Otherwise, crowds are actually very low. So the general breakdown is;

    • Weeks 1, 2, and 3 of November: Moderate crowds
    • Week 4 of November: Busy crowds
    • Weeks 1-2 of December: Light crowds
    • Weeks 3 and 4 of December:  VERY busy crowds
    My personal preference would be week 2 of December, so that you can avoid holiday crowds, but still enjoy the AMAZING holiday decorations in the parks and resorts.

    As for temperature, here are the average temperatures for November and December, as per the National Weather Service.  Both months had low monthly rainfalls, so no worries there. I will tell you also that I was there during the first week of December last year, and it was warm enough to swim every single day!

    November Temperatures
    • High: 78.9
    • Low: 58.7
    • Average: 68.8
    December Temperatures
    • High: 73.7
    • Low: 52.6
    • Average: 63.0
