Welcome back, Dawn! Disney Cruise Line offers
ground transfers from the JFK International Airport and LaGuardia International Airport as well as from their partner resort in New York, the New York Marriott Marquis. However, since you're not flying in, if you drive, you can either
park at the port, which is a bit pricey in New York ($40 per night), or stay overnight prior to sailing at a hotel or resort nearby that offers a Sleep, Park and Cruise deal. I'm not familiar with the Uber or bus costs from Connecticut to New York, but you might research those and compare them to the cost of driving in on your own and staying at a Sleep, Park and Cruise deal hotel near the port that allows you to stay overnight one night and leave your car there for the length of your sailing.
Another option may be to take a bus, train, or Uber (again, unsure of the cost of this from your home, so do a bit of research into that) to the Marriott Marquis in New York. If you stay there the night prior, you can pre-book Disney Cruise Line's ground transfers from the hotel right to the port. They take your bags earlier in the morning and then you'll be whisked away in comfort without the hassle of driving yourself in New York City. There is a cost to the transfers, but I promise that letting Disney take care of the details is the easiest way to transition from land to sea and back again! Plus, the hotel is right in the heart of Times Square so you'll get a real taste of the Big Apple before setting sail. If you arrive early, you may even be able to catch a Broadway show! What a way to kick off your vacation! Disney Cruise Line's agents can book the Marriott Marquis for you as well as ground transfers, so if you decide on this option, give them a call at (800) 951-3532.
Happy planning, Dawn!
