HI! We live in Australia and are coming to WDW for our 1st international family holiday. Just wondering what is the best time to visit as we are not familiar with your school or holiday dates. We have a 5yr old and a 18month old. Thanks!

    Hi Rebecca,

What a great first trip to on an international vacation! I think you will like the Walt Disney World Resorts.

The school schedule in the United States varies from state to state and school district to school district. While some schools are open from September to June, others go year round.

The summer vacation season starts mid-May and ends mid-August. While some schools may start earlier or end later, all schools will be out around this time period. This is also one of the busiest times at the Walt Disney World Resorts. However, Disney will have extra hours for guests to enjoy the parks.

Other holiday periods not included in the summer holiday season are:

Presidents Day - third Monday in February including the week that follows
Easter/Passover - varies yearly but often includes the days before and after
Thanksgiving - fourth Thursday in November including the days prior
Christmas/New Years - starts a few days before Christmas and ends after January 1

I hope this helps you plan a magical vacation!
