I am a little green about planning a trip, I have always used a travel agent in the past, but was wondering is it just as easy to plan/arrange a trip to WDW through the Disney website?

Yes and no. Using the Disney website to book your vacation is very easy. I've booked many, many vacations this way and I've never been unhappy with any of these experiences. It is very nice to be able to plan at your own convenience, and to have complete control of all of your reservations, right at your fingertips.

On the other hand, booking through a travel agent is also easy and convenient. The biggest benefit to using a travel agent, in my opinion, can be found if you select one who specializes in Disney vacations. This means you will be dealing with a Disney expert, who truly knows the ins and outs of visiting WDW and can offer you solid expertise to plan your vacation. A travel agent will also continue to look for the best deal for you, even after you have booked your trip. For example, I used a Disney travel agent to book a trip for my family this fall, and he recently contacted me to let me know that we could save a good chunk of money by switching to a different resort. I was happy to make the change!

Of course you can always do the research yourself and continue to look for a better deal, but it will take a little time and effort. Mousesavers.com is a resource I have used in the past to follow Disney sales and specials when booking on my own. If you opt for a Disney travel agent, I have worked with TheMouseYourWay.com and have also been very pleased.

    Good luck!
