Want to take my little boy pony trekking in fort Wilderness - staying at SS what is the best way to get there via disney transport and is the pony trekking near the main building??? Or is it a long walk?

I am thrilled that you will be sharing such a special experience with your son! Our young daughters consistently rank a visit to Disney's Tri-Circle-D Ranch as one of their favorite stops in our Walt Disney World Resort vacations. It always puts a smile on my heart when others pop by for this fantastic off-the-beaten-path experience.

Since the complimentary bus transportation does not run from Resort to Resort, when you are ready trade the beautiful horse-race theming of Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa for an afternoon with the living, breathing, working ponies and horses of Walt Disney World Resort, you will want to hop on the bus nearest to your Villa and head to Magic Kingdom Park. There, board the Green Flag Motor Cruiser directly to Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort.

Boat transportation is not only beautiful, but convenient. It is only a short walk from the dock to the pony stables of Tri-Circle-D Ranch. You will find it just beyond Pioneer Hall which houses the zany and fun Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue.

After your visit with our hooved pals, you can either reverse your journey or explore more of The Campsites and Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort by catching a bus at the stop just to the left of the stables and heading to the Outpost. There you can transfer to a bus to any of the theme parks. Once at a theme park, either enter for more fun, or board a bus back to your villa for a restful afternoon.

Just as a quick reminder, be sure that you and your son wear close-toed shoes for your visit.

Please give our favorites, Blaze and Nemo, an extra pat from me!

    Wishing you many magical memories,

    Sally
