Hi there, Mark! Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney. I'm always happy to help a fellow
Disney Vacation Club Member explore the ins and outs of Membership. Let's get right to it!
As you know, Disney Vacation Club Members can use their
Vacation Points flexibly to travel to the DVC resorts, as well as other Disney destinations around the globe. Another Member benefit is the ability to exchange your Vacation Points through
Interval International–this timeshare exchange program replaced the previous partnership with RCI and the Concierge Collection. Interval’s program is referred to as the World Collection, featuring thousands of resorts around the globe.
Because Interval is a completely separate company, Disney Vacation Club does not manage its website. There is a handy
how-to guide on the DVC site that explains how to make a reservation with Interval, as well as a link to the Interval site where you can search resorts and make a booking.
You can complete an exchange of points online, or by calling
Member Services–generally, I prefer to call and speak to a Cast Member so I can ask any questions I may have! You can also deposit points for a future Vacation Exchange with Interval International. Keep in mind that any exchange into Interval carries a one-time nonrefundable transaction fee (currently $95, subject to change) and that once the points are exchanged you cannot pull them back for a Disney Vacation Club stay.
Mark, I hope this information is helpful for your planning purposes. If you have any additional questions about Interval International exchanges or other aspects of your Membership, please reach out anytime.
Stay Magical!
Susan
