Howdy, Lynn.
Welcome to planDisney! I'm always happy to rustle up an answer for a fellow Texan, so thanks for stopping by. In just a few weeks, you'll be soaring high with Dumbo, sailing the seas with a crew of swashbuckling pirates, and taking a safari around an African savanna. I bet you can't wait!
I had the opportunity to do two solo days at Walt Disney World Resort once myself. While my husband attended a work conference nearby, I spent the days enjoying all Magic Kingdom Park and EPCOT had to offer. It was glorious! I could do what I wanted, when I wanted to do it. I had a picnic on Tom Sawyer Island and watched the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad trains zoom by in the distance. I experienced Journey Into Imagination With Figment over and over again ... The only time table I had to follow was the one I set for myself, which meant I could really pace myself and soak up the magic and ambiance around me. I think you will really enjoy your solo trip!
Since I've taken full advantage of the Single Rider lines, I am happy to provide a list of the attractions that utilize them. Keep in mind that Single Rider lines are subject to change at any time and may be unavailable on your trip.
- Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park: Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain is my favorite attraction to use the Single Rider line on. I once experienced this ride five times in less than 30 minutes because of it! Unfortunately, this attraction is closed for refurbishment through mid-April. I still wanted you to know about it just in case the refurbishment finishes earlier than expected, so I encourage you to check it out.
- EPCOT: Test Track has a Single Rider line, but it bypasses the section of the experience where you design your own concept car. If that is important to you, you may want to opt for the standby line instead.
- Disney's Hollywood Studios: Over on Sunset Boulevard, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith has a Single Rider line. Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run over in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge also has one, but you will not get to choose your role aboard the ship. I have always been assigned the role of engineer when utilizing the Single Rider line here, so if your heart is set on being a pilot, you might opt for the standby line instead.
Even though some attractions may not have a designated Single Rider line, I often hear Cast Members calling out for parties of one or two, so just have a keen ear open while waiting in line. You might still be able to bypass a bit of the queue if you are the only party of one available at that time.
Lynn, I hope your magical solo vacation is filled with memorable moments and pixie dust. I suggest you peruse the
delicious dining options on property and book a dining reservation at a restaurant you've been dreaming of trying. It's the perfect way to treat yourself on your trip! Please stop back by planDisney if you have further questions. We'd be happy to help!
Tomorrow is just a dream away,
Alyssa
