When linking my tickets to the Disneyland app, do I have to link them under each individuals name? After I enter the number on the back of the ticket it asks for a name? Do I just link them all under my name? Would that okay to do?

Hi Michelle! Welcome to planDisney. I’m so glad you stopped by with this great question about linking tickets. It's something some Guests wonder about before their trip, and I’d be happy to walk you through it.

Here’s how it works: when you first link a ticket to the Disneyland app, you’ll be asked to enter a name. This step is mostly for your own organization. It helps you know which ticket belongs to which person in your group. The official “link” to a Guest actually happens at the park entrance. At that first scan, a quick photo is taken of the person using the ticket, and from then on, that picture (not the name you entered in the app) is what ties the ticket to that Guest. So even if you accidentally link all of your tickets under your own name, the system will still recognize each ticket correctly once it’s used at the gate.

That said, I do recommend assigning each ticket to the actual Guest who will use it. Doing this helps you avoid confusion when managing your group’s entry or making Lightning Lane selections later in the day. If there’s ever a hiccup with a ticket, it’s much easier to sort out when each one is labeled with the correct name.

Since you mentioned using the Disneyland app, let me add a few planning tips. The app is a wonderful companion for your visit. It keeps your tickets right on your phone and lets you check wait times, dining options, and entertainment schedules in real time. I suggest exploring it a bit before your trip so you’re comfortable navigating all the features.

One of my favorite sections is the “Entertainment” tab, where you’ll find showtimes for parades, stage productions, and nighttime spectaculars. Another gem is the “Characters” tab, which updates throughout the day with locations to meet your Disney pals. A little Q-Tip: early in the day, Main Street is often bustling with classic characters like Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy, and you might even catch a royal wave from a Princess near the entrance to the main gate.

Michelle, I hope this helps you feel prepared and excited as your Disneyland visit approaches. And of course, if you’d like more personalized suggestions, we’d love to welcome you back to planDisney anytime.

Wishing you a day filled with magical memories,
    David
