Welcome to planDisney, Michael! You're on your way to the Most Magical Place on Earth, and I couldn't be more excited for you. It sounds like you've booked a stay at a Disney Resort Hotel, so let's look at how your
MagicBand can enhance the wonder.
If you used your MagicBand on a previous visit, then it should already be linked to your account. You can check this online by hovering over the
My Disney Experience tab at the top right of your screen and selecting "My MagicBands and Cards." A list of linked bands should appear; if yours is not listed in "Manage Disney Bands and Cards," you should see a blue "Link" button to add yours.
You can also add a brand new MagicBand+ here in the same way by entering the band's ID number. In your
My Disney Experience mobile app, you can scan your band with your phone to begin the linking process.
The next step is to make sure your Disney Resort Hotel reservation is also linked to the same account. Hover over the same tab and select "My Plans and Tickets." Look for the blue building icon for "Resort Hotel" stays to see or link your reservation.
Once your band and reservation are
linked to your account, your band will "automagically" be tied to your hotel stay. You'll be able to
scan your band to access your room and pay for food and merchandise at select locations. My tip is to complete the
Direct-to-Room online check-in service which requires you to provide a credit card for charging privileges.
I recommend calling the
App and MagicBand Support line if you need further assistance; those Cast Members are wizards at problem-solving. You can also ask for help syncing your MagicBand at your resort's front desk or any
Guest Relations location.
Did you know that your MagicBand+ is rechargeable? Just snap it into the included cradle for an overnight boost. The charge feature is what activates the fun lights, colors, and haptics on your band. I love the surprise when I'm on an attraction or watching the fireworks and my band decides to get in on the fun. But I'll stop there; no spoilers! The best part is that if you forget to charge your band, it will still work as your room key, theme park ticket, and more. I sometimes wonder if MagicBands run on pixie dust...
Michael, I hope your visit is full of magic(bands) and memories! Please stop by
planDisney anytime!
Magic awaits,
Elaine
