Should I link my husband onto My Disney Experience? I know he can check wait times and menus but should he also have access on his phone so that he can mobile order and try to get rise of the resistance passes? If so how do I link his phone to my account?

    Hi Kelly!

Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question! The My Disney Experience Mobile App is your on-the-go key to all the magic of the Walt Disney World Resort! Use the app to unlock your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel room, view attraction wait times, check bus arrival times to your resort, and mobile order meals!

There are two different ways your husband can access My Disney Experience for your upcoming visit. He can be part of your account, or he can have his own and link to you.

If you have not already added him to your travel group, I recommend he create his own account at My Disney Experience. If he is listed already on your Disney Resort Hotel reservation, be sure he uses the same name that is on the reservation, for example, Mickey vs. Mick. Once the account is created, go to the My Family & Friends tab on your account. Scroll down and choose to Add a Guest. Then choose the option to enter their name and age. Once you select that he is 18+, it will prompt you to either manage plans for that Guest or Invite that Guest. You’ll want to Invite that Guest, then enter your husband’s email address. He’ll receive a message letting him know you want to share plans, and he should accept that invitation. You are now connected and can link him to all your reservations! He can use his account to access your trip information, make changes to your plans, mobile order, and attempt to reserve a coveted Boarding Group.

If you have already added him to your account with the My Family & Friends tool, and you picked that you would manage plans for this Guest, I would suggest leaving it that way. If he already exists in your account, and you try to create another person with the same name and link per my instructions above, the system will believe they are two different people and it could cause difficulties. Have him download the mobile app to his phone, and he can simply use your login information to access the app. He will be able to use his phone, but with your account. This is how my teenagers access our planning information when we are in the parks.

I hope this helps you navigate adding your husband to your plans! Here’s my planDisney tip for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Boarding Groups. Have one of you pull up the official time with the atomic clock, while the other gets ready to hit the “Join” button on My Disney Experience. Count down the last 10 seconds till the opening time, and as soon as the timekeeper says zero, the person trying for the Boarding Groups should hit the blue “Join” button and keep hitting the subsequent “Join” buttons as fast as they can. Don’t stop to read anything, just keep hitting that button! I hope you get lucky!

May the Force be with you!
