How do I link my hotel to the app?

Hi Dana, and thanks for visiting us at planDisney! With just a few more days before your trip, I’d be happy to walk you through linking your resort hotel reservation to the My Disney Experience app and securing all of your vacation photos!

First, let’s make sure you’re all set with your resort hotel reservation. If you booked your stay through the Disney World website, it should be automatically linked to your MyDisney account (as long as you were logged in when you made the reservation). If you booked through a third-party company, you can manually link the reservation in the app. Go to ☰ in the lower right corner and select Link to Account (in the Account section). On the next page, press Type ID towards the top. Under Resort Reservation, input your confirmation number and the last name on the reservation, and press the Link Resort button. For third-party bookings, some companies have the number needed in their email confirmation, while others require you to call their company directly to get the number to link to My Disney Experience. I recently had to do this for a reservation at the Swan Hotel, and it was easy to call for the confirmation number.

If you’re staying at a Disney Resort hotel, don’t forget to check out the many perks you’ll get! My family’s favorite is Early Theme Park Entry, because what’s more magical than extra time in the parks?! We can usually get a couple of rides in before wait times pick up, and it really helps us maximize the morning before naptime!

Now, onto your second question about photo packages. I’d recommend purchasing Memory Maker, which gives you digital downloads of all your PhotoPass pictures within 30 days of a selected start date. If you decide to go this route, be sure to purchase Memory Maker at least three days in advance so you can take advantage of the pre-arrival discount!

Having Memory Maker always encourages my family to take more pictures together, and we don’t have to worry about who’s behind the camera. With PhotoPass photographers throughout all four theme parks, you’ll come home with so many pictures! I have them rotating on a digital picture frame at home, which is a great way to remember all your vacation memories. Also, when you’re in the parks, don’t miss the unique Tiny World and Super Zoom Magic Shots. They really capture the fun vibes of a magical Disney day!

I hope you have the best day ever at Disney World this weekend! And if you have any other questions, you’re always welcome back at planDisney.
