Hi Cathy! Welcome to planDisney. We’re always delighted to help you plan a magical adventure.
As the designated planner in my group, I know how managing everyone’s tickets can sometimes feel like a tall order. Thankfully, the
Disneyland app makes it incredibly simple to link your friends and family to your
MyDisney account. To get started, log in through the app. Once you’re in, tap the menu icon (those three magical horizontal lines) in the bottom right corner and select “My Tickets and Passes.” Then, click the plus icon in the top right to access the “Link Tickets and Passes” option. You can either enter the barcode number manually or use your phone’s camera to scan it. It’s Disney tech magic at work! Once a ticket is linked, that person becomes part of your MyDisney crew.
With everyone connected in the app, you’ll be able to make park reservations, book
Lightning Lane return times, and even share those iconic
PhotoPass snapshots (cue the castle pic with matching sunglasses!). One Q-Tip my wife and I use is to divide and conquer in the parks. On a busy summer day, I’ll take care of Lightning Lane selections while she places
mobile dining orders. It’s less stress and more time for Mickey-shaped treats and a mid-afternoon Dole Whip break!
Now, let’s talk Lightning Lane Multi Pass. Once your group’s tickets are linked, you’ll be able to manage return times for everyone, but there are a couple of important things to keep in mind. First, return times can only be booked for Guests who have already scanned into either Disneyland or Disney California Adventure. So while you can link everyone ahead of time, you won’t be able to make those Lightning Lane selections until they’ve officially entered the park. Second, to make sure your group gets the same return time, no one should already have a Multi Pass reservation active. Once a return time is selected, Guests need to wait either 120 minutes or until they’ve scanned in for their attraction, whichever comes first, before they can book the next one. If someone already used a Lightning Lane, the system will require everyone else to wait for that same time window to pass before booking together again.
If you have any more questions about Lightning Lanes, the Disneyland app, or just want more summer-ready planning tips, Cathy, we’d love to hear from you again at planDisney. We’re here to help you soak up every magical moment: sunglasses, churros, and all.
Enjoy your visit,
David
