how to link a friend to my disney experience

    Hello Julie!

We're so glad you stopped by to see us today. When you link a fellow guest to your Friends & Family list, you can make plans together like Lightning Lanes and dining reservations, and view each other's photos in the My Disney Experience app. There are a few different ways to connect with members of your travel party ahead of your visit, so let's chat about your options!

If your travel partner already has a My Disney Experience account, you can connect using linking codes. Navigate to the feature menu (☰) on your app, scroll down to "Profile" under the Account header, then click the option to "Show My Linking Code" at the bottom of the screen. This will generate a QR code which your friend can scan or manually type into their app, or vice versa if they want to provide their code to you. These codes are valid for 30 minutes, so set aside time when both of you are available to complete the process.

Once you're ready to enter the other's code, head back to the app, select "Profile" and then click the link for "Family & Friends List" at the top of the screen. Scroll down until you see "+ Add a Guest." Click that link and select the option to "Scan their linking code," then click the corresponding button to proceed. This will open your phone's camera to scan, but you'll also have the option to "Manually Enter Code." Type in your pal's unique 6-digit code and you'll be connected right away.

If your travel partner doesn't have their own account, you can send them an invitation to connect. To do so, select the option for "I'll enter their name and age" instead of "Scan their linking code" when adding a new guest. You'll input their name, age, and birthday, and then choose "Share planning with this Guest," which will open a field for their email address. They'll receive an email to approve your request to connect, and you'll be all set to make magical plans together. If your pal is a child under 13, or you simply want to create and manage plans on their behalf, select the option for "I'll manage all plans for this Guest" instead. This will give you full control over their plans, which is how I currently have my children's profiles set up.

If you decide to share planning with them at a later time, you can always edit their managed profile and generate an email for them to accept. Just locate their name on your Family & Friends list, then follow the prompts to send them an email or scan their linking code. This is also helpful if you need to merge duplicate profiles, if you created an account for them and they later set up one on their own. All existing plans and linked admission will transfer to the appropriate account once the process is complete.

Lastly, as you review and add to your Family & Friends list, you'll also see the option to "Find through my connected Guests." This will pull up a list of travel partners for anyone you're already connected to, assuming their list is set to share and not kept private. If you see a name you recognize, feel free to place a check mark next to their name, which should generate an approval for them to accept. This is a quick way to connect, especially when traveling with guests across multiple resort reservations.

I hope this helped, Julie! If we can answer any additional questions, please come back to planDisney and let us know. We're always happy to assist!

    Magic and memories,
    Amy
