Hi Toni,
Welcome back to planDisney! We love when friends return with additional questions, and I'd love to help you as you're thinking through the details of your
fall getaway to The Most Magical Place on Earth!
MagicBands really are, well...magical, aren't they? As a mama to five Mouseketeers, they sure do make managing our Disney trips quite simple. I love that I don't need to hold on to each family member's ticket, and it's so convenient being able to pay for any purchases with them. Plus, we can even give charging privileges to our kids, and that gives me peace of mind knowing they can grab a bite to eat if we're not together and their tumblies get rumbly like Winnie the Pooh's. The interesting thing about MagicBands is that they don't store any data on them; they're simply a tool that's used to link back to your My Disney Experience account. Because the credit card on file is linked to your
Disney Resort hotel stay and not the MagicBand itself, all the charges you make with your MagicBand will go onto your hotel account. The nice thing is that you won't need to worry about stopping by the front desk to pay your bill before you leave. Your expenses will automagically be charged to your credit card, and you'll receive an itemized receipt showing the date, location, amount, and name of the Guest making the charge via email the morning of your
check-out. Oh, and did you know that if you're curious about your balance at any point during your vacation, you can access a running list of your charges within your Disney Resort hotel section of the
My Disney Experience mobile app? It's so convenient!
With that said, the one way that charges will go directly to your credit card is when you utilize
mobile ordering. You may also keep your card on file there, and any orders placed will be paid for directly during the ordering process. I've always loved this service, but it's definitely a must-use tool now with Disney's
commitment to health and safety. Not only is mobile ordering the preferred method for ordering and paying at many Quick-service locations, but you'll also find some delicious Table-service restaurants offering "To Go" meals...no reservations required!
I hope this was helpful, Toni. Please don't hesitate to come back and see us again with any other questions you may have. I hope you have a truly magical vacation later this fall!
