    Are we limited to the 20in carryon suitcase? I was hoping to pack my mid-sized 24in suitcase to use that as my ‘carryon’ but I keep seeing posts about limit being 20-22in only.

    You're as welcome as can be to planDisney. I can see that you are especially interested in planning for a smooth and enjoyable Disney Cruise Line vacation experience from beginning to end, including your check-in experience at the cruise terminal on embarkation day. I applaud your foresight and preparation!

    To help make the check-in and embarkation process as efficient as possible for all passengers, carry-on luggage is screened using equipment similar to what you would encounter at an airport security checkpoint. To properly fit within the scanners, carry-on luggage should be no larger than 22" x 14" x 9".

    To help hold all of your personal effects, I recommend taking both a good-sized carry-on luggage and a large bag. I've also seen some Guests simply hand-carry certain larger items such as cases of bottled water, which normally fit well within the luggage scanners too.

    For more tips on what and how to pack, you can find a handy packing list as well as a list of prohibited items on the Disney Cruise Line website. You should receive tags to attach to your checked luggage. If not, you can also pick up additional tags at the cruise ship terminal.
