Ahoy there, Loma!
I'm glad you sailed by planDisney with your question. Sounds like you have a plan for staying hydrated during your Disney Cruise Line vacation, so let's talk H20!
Each Guest may carry unopened, sealed bottles of water when they board the ship. Now, how much water you carry on depends on how much weight you are willing to lug around in your carry-on baggage. You will have this bag with you while you wait for your stateroom to be ready, which could be a few hours depending on your Port Arrival Time.
Instead of carrying on a large quantity of bottled water, I usually bring a couple of bottles of water with me and a refillable water bottle. You can refill your water bottle with icy cold water at the
complimentary Beverage Stations or at the
buffet-style restaurant on board. I've also found that lounges and Rotational Dining restaurants will usually offer water to refill your bottle. The water onboard is perfectly safe and great tasting! You also have the option of
pre-ordering bottled water and it will be waiting for you in your stateroom when you arrive. You can also purchase water in ports of call and bring unopened and sealed bottles onboard with you. If you choose this option, allow a little extra time to board the ship since your purchase may be subject to inspection.
Loma, if you are curious about how Disney Cruise Line creates fresh water in the middle of the ocean, you should check out this great episode of
Behind the Waves: Water Conservation | Disney Cruise Line. It is a quick behind-the-scenes look at how Disney Cruise Line helps Guests enjoy their vacation.
I hope this information helps you and your crew get ready to sail away! Let us know if you have other questions.
Wishing you many magical memories,
