Hey there, Roxane! Thanks for choosing planDisney to answer your planning questions for your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort visit. You arrive in just a couple of sleeps, so I bet you have your Minnie Mouse ears packed! It sounds like you need some information about Lightning Lane passes, so let's jump right in!
If you're familiar with the previous iterations of ways to decrease wait times for experiences at the theme parks, then you're already ahead of the game. I remember paper "FastPasses" many years ago which allowed guests to use special attraction entrances that bypassed most of the standby queues. There have been other versions and names over the years, so let's discuss the latest.
Lightning Lanes are marked entrances at many attractions that take you on a more direct route to the ride-boarding area. You miss most of the standby queue when using Lightning Lanes, and your wait times are typically much shorter. There are currently two types of
Lightning Lane passes: Multi Pass and Single Pass.
Lightning Lane Multi Pass is a product you can purchase before your visit. You'll buy it for your starting theme park and schedule
three attractions you'd like to use it for. Guests staying at Disney Resort hotels can make their selections up to
seven days in advance, while other guests can book Lightning Lane Multi Pass three days in advance. Once you've used one of your passes, you can book another, and so on throughout the day.
Lightning Lane Single Passes are available for select attractions at all four theme parks. They can be purchased à la carte in the same booking window as the Multi Pass. You can also combine purchases of Multi Pass and Single Pass experiences. I recently purchased Lightning Lane Multi Pass for Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park and a Lightning Lane Single Pass for
Avatar Flight of Passage. That was one smooth day, Roxane! I breezed through the queues like Goofy on the Runaway Railway!
You can read more about Lightning Lanes and
watch some videos for details about the products. Once you've used the system firsthand, navigating it becomes a breeze—I promise!
Roxane, I hope I've directed you to more information you can use to determine if Lightning Lanes are for your family. If you try it, let me know how it works for you. I'm still learning the new system, too. Please

Magic awaits,
