Can lightning lane single passes sell out prior to the three day window opening for those not staying on property? Getting worried! (January trip, too many people for Multi Pass to be an option.)

    Hi there, Ashley!

From one resident of the Peach State to another, welcome to planDisney! How exciting that you'll be kicking off 2025 with a visit to Walt Disney World Resort. What a practically perfect way to set a magical tone for the new year! It sounds like we have more than just our home state in common, Ashley, because, like you, I'm all about maximizing magic by minimizing waits during my Walt Disney World Resort vacations. Happily, Lighting Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass make this possible!

As you are aware, Guests of Disney Resorts Collection hotels (and select others) are able to make their Lightning Lane purchases 7 days before check-in for the entire length of their vacation. Because of this, there is a chance that some attractions will be unavailable for Lighting Lane purchase or selection when the 3-day window opens for all other Guests. In my personal experience, popular attractions such as Slinky Dog Dash and Tiana's Bayou Adventure are typically unavailable for Muli Pass selections 3 days out, but Lightning Lane Single Pass attractions typically have availability. While you may be unable to select your preferred return time, I've yet to encounter an issue purchasing a Single Pass if I do so immediately when able. Please keep in mind that this is not a guarantee, and since you will be visiting during one of the most popular times of the year, you'll want to make your Lightning Lane purchases as soon as you are able (7 AM EST) for the best chance of availability.

I noticed that you mentioned your party was too large to purchase Multi Pass, Ashley, so I wanted to make sure that you are aware that while there is a limit to the number of Guests that can be linked to a single Lightning Lane booking, you are more than welcome to divide your party into subgroups and book selections with overlapping return windows. My pal Ashley provided some great tips for efficiently making this happen here

I hope this was helpful, Ashley, and that your upcoming visit is filled with thrilling attractions and magical memories. If you are in need of further assistance as you continue to finalize your plans, feel free to stop back by. I'm always happy to help!

    Thinking Happy Thoughts,
