Hi Gail,
Welcome to planDisney! Your upcoming visit to
Walt Disney World Resort is sure to be filled with excitement and unforgettable experiences. With so many incredible attractions, entertainment, and dining options, every moment will be packed with fun.
Lightning Lane entrances are a fantastic tool for making the most of your time in the parks and reducing wait times.
Lightning Lane entrances allow you to bypass the standby queue for select attractions and experience shorter waits, thus giving you more time to enjoy everything Disney has to offer. To reserve Lightning Lane passes, open the
My Disney Experience app and navigate to the "Lightning Lane Passes" section by selecting the menu icon (three horizontal lines at the bottom right). From there, choose the type of Lightning Lane pass you'd like to purchase: Lightning Lane Multi Pass, Lightning Lane Single Pass, or Lightning Lane Premier Pass. On the next screen, you will select the date you are visiting, choose a theme park, browse available attractions, and confirm your selections.
If you are staying at a Disney Resort hotel,
you can begin booking Lightning Lane experiences at 7:00 AM Eastern Time, seven days before your arrival date, for your entire stay (up to 14 days). Guests staying off-property with date-based tickets can purchase Lightning Lane passes at 7:00 AM Eastern Time, three days before their ticket start date, and can make selections for the ticket length at that time.
I recommend prioritizing the attractions with longer wait times to get the most out of your Lightning Lane selections. At Magic Kingdom, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Peter Pan's Flight are great choices. EPCOT favorites include Frozen Ever After and Remy's Ratatouille Adventure. Over at Disney's Hollywood Studios, Slinky Dog Dash and Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway are popular picks. Disney's Animal Kingdom is best enjoyed with a Lightning Lane for Avatar Flight of Passage or Expedition Everest. If you'd like, I can also share strategies on how to time your Lightning Lane reservations effectively to enjoy multiple attractions throughout the day.
I hope this helps, Gail. Please
let me know if you have any other questions or need further planning tips.
See you real soon!
Brent
