Let me start by saying love the panel. Very helpful ! My DH and I are planning a trip to WDW for Dec 15-19 @ the Polynesian. W/ deluxe DDP. This trip is for our 3 DDs 3,5,and 7. ? is how much x-tra money should we bring? This is our first trip.

That's really up to you. If you have the deluxe dining plan, beyond money for tips, you could probably get away with surviving at WDW with no other money at all. But what fun is that?

Seriously, If you're asking "how much cash will I need," the answer is, "not that much." I've gone on 10 day WDW vacations and spent less than $50 in cash. Nearly everything in the parks and resorts (including tips) can be charged to your room, which can be charged to a credit card. Hubby and I usually bring $200 in cash each on our WDW vacation, and that covers everything, even at the airport, with plenty left over.

If you're asking, "how much actual money will I spend," then I'd say, "how much do you have." There are nearly infinite ways to spend money at Disney World. I think over the years I've tried to find them all ;-) Perhaps a better way for you to approach this is to just pick a number that makes sense to from a personal budgeting standpoint. There really are countless fun and interesting add-on experiences and countless beautiful souvenirs that could boost your expenses by hundreds or thousands of dollars a day. You, and your kids, are going to want it all, so just decide how much you can afford to spend and stick to it. Here's a sampling of some of the extras you might be interested in (prices can change and are just ballpark for reference):

    Plush toys: $8-50
    Collectable pins: $6-20
    T-shirts: $15-50
    Embroidered Mickey ears: $15
    Ride photos: $15
    PhotoPass CD: $125
    Surrey bike rental: $30
Family Magic Tour: $25 per person
    Massage at the spa: $100-200
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique princess makeover: $50-200
    Single stroller rental: $15/day
Magic Kingdom evening party tickets: $45/person

    Sunscreen: $10
    SeaRaycer boat rental: $25/half-hour

Hope this gives you some idea of what you'll need.
