Port Orleans Riverside Pool

    Are the leisure pools at Port Orleans Riverside heated?

    Hi Justine,

    Welcome to planDisney!

    How lovely that you are planning a vacation at the Walt Disney World Resort in January and are interested in staying at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside.  I have a special place in my heart for this Disney Resort and its nearby sister Resort, Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter.   These two Resorts are just a short stroll away from each other along the Sassagoula River and whenever my husband and I stay there, we make a point to enjoy a leisurely walk from one Resort to the other during our stay. 

    You will be happy to know that all of the Walt Disney World Resort hotel pools are heated year-round to a balmy 82 degrees.  I have visited during some cold months and having heated pools really makes all the difference.  At Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside, there is one main pool called Ol' Man Island and 5 other leisure pools nestled among the Alligator Bayou and Magnolia Bend sections.

    Since you will be visiting in mid-January, I hope that you will be able to visit the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts.  Although next year's exact dates haven't been released yet, last year it began in mid-January so I'll send some Pixie Dust your way and hope that you will be visiting while the festival is taking place.
