Leaving in 2 wks & have ADR's at CRT, CM, Ohanas, CG, CP, Tep Edo, Cape May, Narc, etc. On DDDP. Read negative reviews about Coral Reef.. am I wasting meal credit dining here? Thought kids (7&3) would like aquarium. Your opinion? Should I book ano

Hi, Denise!  The Coral Reef does not happen to be one of my favorite restaurants, but I'll tell you why that may be.  I grew up with an aunt and uncle who owned a restaurant in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, and we spent every summer there, coming home each September with loads of freshly caught seafood.  We also have a lot of really wonderful seafood restaurants not too far from where we live - less than an hour from the Jersey shore.  I think we might be a bit spoiled by our access to fresh seafood at reasonable prices.

There is nothing wrong with the food at Coral Reef, and my kids absolutely LOVE the atmosphere there - watching the aquariums and the beautiful and interesting fish.  My best meal there was actually a New York strip steak - cooked to perfection and so tender, it barely required chewing.  Another thing I do like about the Coral Reef is that there are other options on the children's menu besides the traditional chicken nuggets and burgers.  My girls really enjoyed the Mahi Mahi.

If you are used to fabulous local seafood restaurants that feature fish caught right on the boat that morning, this may not be the best option for you.  However, this is a great dining experience that children love, and there are some menu highlights - like the steak and the appetizer for two - that I can recommend, even to my friends from Jersey and the Outer Banks.

Have a wonderful vacation!  You have some wonderful meals booked, and I don't think you'll be disappointed with any of them!
