Leaving in 2 weeks. I have a reservation on our last night for Cinderellas Royal Table at 8:10pm. Would we be able to see the fireworks at MK? Will they do anything special for a birthday?

You won't really be able to see the fireworks from inside the restaurant for several reasons. First, for most of June 2008, the Wishes fireworks show will be at 10:00 p.m. Your dinner at Cinderella's Royal Table is likely to take between an hour and an hour and half (at the most). You will be done eating before show time. Second, even if you were in the restaurant at 10:00, you can't really see the fireworks when you're inside the castle. Even if you had a window seat (and there are only a few of these), the windows are stained glass with poor visibility of the park. Also, most of the fireworks explode over the castle. While you're inside, you wouldn't be able to see what's overhead.

You can, however, stay in the park after dinner. You'll be a good position to get a nice viewing spot just outside the castle. This would be a wonderful way to cap off a birthday meal.

As to the birthday celebration, I would call Disney Dining right away at 407-WDW-DINE and have them make a note on your reservation about your special occasion. You should also remind the host or hostess at the restaurant podium as well as your server in the dining room. While nothing is guaranteed, very often birthday celebrations get special attention. We had breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Table on my twins' 6th birthday. They put streamers and confetti on the table, which made things even more festive, and gave each of them a free cupcake at the end of the meal. If you'd like to do more, you could order a birthday cake yourself and have it brought to the table. Disney Dining (at the number above) can instruct you how to do this. Cakes must be ordered at least 48 hours in advance.

I hope you have a wonderful visit!
