I am leaving on June 1st for a 4 night cruise on the Dream. It says that one night is optional semiformal attire. What does this mean? Is there a certain experience you get if you dress up as opposed to not?

Welcome aboard, Sarah! It's almost time to take that first step into the Disney Dream's atrium lobby as the Cast Members announce your family's name and applaud your arrival! What a great way to begin what is sure to be a magical cruise vacation!

The Optional Dress Up Night is a night when guests may choose to wear a more formal outfit to dinner. Since your shorter cruise doesn't include a Formal or Semi-Formal night, this is a nice way to still offer those guests a dress up experience. Most guests choose to dress up a bit more that night. Many will wear formal or semi-formal dress to dinner, but others will simply continue to wear their cruise causal attire, which is appropriate that night as well. If you bring a dressier outfit, that would be the night to wear it. There is not a different experience for those guests who dress up, so you won't miss out on anything by choosing to dress cruise casual that night.

But, I do encourage you to wear something a bit dressier that night. The Disney characters will be in their formal best that night, so it really makes for a great photo opportunity with the characters!

I hope that gives you some more information before you set sail! Have a wonderful cruise, Sarah!
