Hi! Leaving for our first trip to DW in 9 days!! Can you tell me whether Port Orleans-Riverside has a zero-entry pool- one that starts out at sidewalk-level and very gradually gets deeper (on an incline)? We have 3 small (ages 1,2,4) kids. :) Thanks!

Port Orleans Riverside does not have a zero-entry pool. It does, however, have baby-depth pools that would be perfect for your family of youngsters.

I personally much prefer baby pools to zero-entry pools with toddlers and preschoolers. While zero-entry pools do start out extremely shallow, they eventually progress to 3-4 feet deep. It is very easy for a child to take a step too far and be in over his head before he realizes what has happened. With a baby pool you're never going to have the child in water that is over his head. There are lifeguards at the Disney pools and you obviously want to watch your children anytime you're in a water situation. Nevertheless, I feel like I can breathe a bit easier if I know that if I need to watch one of my kids for a second, there's not the immediate danger that the other will be in over her head.
