Leaving Dec. 28th on 1st cruise aboard Disney Dream..recommendations for using the nursery for my 18 month old? Is it primarily a place to play? Also, do I need to pre-register my 5 year old for the Oceaneer Club? Thx

    Ahoy Amy!
Congratulations on your upcoming Disney Dream sailing!  The ship will still be decked out in festive holiday decor so your crew is definitely in for an extra dose of pixie dust on your first cruise!
My son was 18 months on my family's first Disney Cruise, and he absolutely loved the nursery!  I made reservations ahead of time and actually added a few more hours once we were onboard because he enjoyed it so much.  The childcare providers who work there are fabulous and do a phenomenal job of keeping the littlest cruisers very content with crafts, games, story time, and movie time.  There are plenty of age appropriate toys and lots of interactive features in the space to keep active toddlers engaged, and there is a two-way glass that allows you to pop and check on your little sailor any time he or she is visiting.
You can cancel up to four hours in advance and not be charged so I recommend reserving some hours ahead of time to let your son or daughter try it out.
As for your five your old, you can pre-register for the Oceaneer Club online in the Planning Center Section of the Disney Cruise website.  If you don't have a chance, you can do it in the cruise terminal or once you board the ship in the Oceaneer Club.
Thank for visiting the Moms Panel with your question, Amy!  If you think of anything else, please let me know!
    Have a magical day!
