Hi! We leave for WDW in 3 days - so excited. Staying at POFQ. My 4 year old daughter loves playing in the sand. Where can we do this? Are the beaches at Poly and other resorts just the sand with the water off-limits? Thanks!

There are no natural bodies of water at WDW where swimming is allowed. You can only swim at the pools at WDW. You can read more about this HERE.

While there is no "beach" swimming at WDW, there are a number of places that have nice soft sand along the lakes. This sand is great for castle-building and similar forms of play. The following resorts have sandy areas:

    Grand Floridian
    Polynesian
    Contemporary
    Wilderness Lodge
    Fort Wilderness
    Caribbean Beach Resort
    Yacht & Beach Club
    Boardwalk
    Swan & Dolphin

But my recommendation for you would be to take your daughter to either Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach. The water parks both have sandy areas directly adjacent to water play areas with zones especially designated for preschoolers. Why my girls were four years old, this was absolute heaven for them.

    Have a great trip!
