Welcome Aboard, Jessica!
How incredibly excited you must be, with your very first Disney Cruise Line vacation so close! My first Disney Cruise was aboard the Magic as well, and it was nothing short of amazing!
When planning your carry-onto-the-ship luggage, plan small. You will have these things with you for quite awhile, since the staterooms are not available for guests until around 1:30 p.m.
When you arrive to the port, there will be porters outside who will happily take all of your luggage and load it onto the ship. It will "Magically" appear outside your stateroom later in the afternoon. The things that you might need with you in your carry-ons include sunscreen, swim suits, flip flops, and swim cover-ups. You will also want to carry any medications with you, as well as valuables and passports. Other than that, let the porters take care of it!
Technically, you would be able to carry-on a suitcase and a personal item, if you truly felt compelled to do so. But, trust a frequent cruiser, you won't want to do this!
If you choose, those over 21 in your party are able to carry on up to 2 bottles of wine or six beers in their carry-on luggage. It is nice to enjoy a glass of wine on the verandah in the evening once the kids have gone to sleep (or if the kids are at the
Oceaneer Club!). This would add an extra bag for you to carry (or roll).
I hope this helps with your cruise planning! Have a MAGICal first cruise aboard the amazing Disney Magic. Be sure to try the
AquaDunk at least once, its quite a thrill!
Happy Cruising, Tracy V.
