How do I leave a down payment?

    Hello Johnny,

Welcome to planDisney! Thanks for stopping by with your question today. Sounds like you are ready to reserve a vacation at the most Magical Place on Earth. Yaay, you!

I recommend using the "Build Your Vacation" search at the top of the Disney World website to look through your options. After selecting your preferred dates, Disney Resort and room preference, whether you'd like to add theme park tickets or a Disney Dining Plan - you then place your package into your cart and can begin the check out process. As you describe, if your vacation is more than 30 days away, you'll be allowed to reserve this by making a down payment. You can then make payments of any amount and frequency easily by logging in to My Disney Experience. Your final payment will be due in full 30 days prior to arrival.

There are two different types of down payments, or deposits, based on the kind of reservation you will be making for Walt Disney World.

RESORT ROOM ONLY - When you book a Disney Resort hotel room, with no theme park admission tickets included, you will be required pay a deposit equivalent to the first night's stay (plus tax).

TRAVEL PACKAGE: If you are reserving a both a Disney resort hotel room and theme park tickets, this is considered a travel package. To secure this booking, you will need to pay a $200 refundable deposit (prices subject to change).

There are so many awesome benefits of staying at a Disney Resort! My family loves being on property during our vacations, using the free Disney transportation without worrying about a vehicle, and staying immersed in the magic the entire time. You're going to love it, too! As an exciting added bonus, all guests staying at a Disney Resort in 2025 will receive free admission to a Disney Water Park on their arrival day.

I hope this information helps you get all your plans arranged for a practically perfect Disney vacation, Johnny! Please visit me again any time at planDisney if I can help sprinkle additional pixie dust, like dining recommendations or Lightning Lane tips.

    Have a wonderful time!
