Hello Sandra!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Your trip is less than a month away! Are you too excited to sleep already? I know I would be. I hope you have a blast on your Walt Disney World adventure.
I love
The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. The cabins provide plenty of space for larger families and I love the full size refrigerators and stove, it saves us some money as we can prepare a meal or two ourselves. The cabins are located somewhat far from the boat launch and Settlement Hall areas of the campground. There is an internal shuttle system that runs frequently, but if you want a change of pace a golf cart is so fun. It's so simple to hop in and head to the pool, or bus stops. There are plenty of charging stations and parking for golf carts throughout the Resort.
As for driving to the Theme Parks, that is totally up to you. I always use the complimentary Disney Transportation as I hate parking and walking or catching a shuttle to the main entrance of each park. Disney transportation will drop you off as close as you can get to the front entrances of each Theme Park and it's wonderful. Since you are a Guest of a Disney Resort hotel your Theme Park parking will be free.
Parking at your Resort will have a cost unless you booked your reservation before March 21, 2018. The only Guests that aren't charged at Fort Wilderness are those staying on an actual campsite, and they are allowed one vehicle per site.
I hope this has helped. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance as you plan your vacation. It's so fun to lend a hand.
Dream as Dreamers Do,
Jen
