Welcome aboard, Deborah!
25 days? That's so soon! Have you downloaded the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App to your mobile devices yet? If not, go ahead and do so now so it's all ready when you arrive at port and you can then begin viewing the activities and events schedules, menus, ship maps and more! But until you arrive at port to access those features, you can follow along with the app's countdown in days, hours, and even minutes!
Since you have one of the earlier
Port Arrival Times, you shouldn't find too long of a wait as you enter the cruise terminal in Port Canaveral. The longest we've had to wait is maybe a half hour and that was pretty long in our experience. I've never heard of it taking hours to get through the security line there. It's really efficiently run. You'll drop any checked bags with porters at the curb and those will magically meet you onboard later that afternoon at your stateroom. Then, your family and your carry-on bags will go through the security and head upstairs to check in and receive your boarding number. What could be a wait, not security so much, is the time in the cruise terminal until boarding begins and your number is called. But, Mickey and Minnie are known to pop out for Meet and Greets with guests near the big ship model in the middle of the terminal waiting area, so that keeps little ones' attentions until it's time to board. You may bring a few snacks for the kiddos too, but once you board, you'll get to head straight to lunch!
I am excited for you to experience your very first sailing on the
Disney Dream, Deborah! Please stop back over this next month with any other questions before you head out to sea! We're happy to help!
