Leave in 10 days! We will be spending a day and 1/2 at Epcot. What exactly is the food festival? Do you just pay as you go for food you'd like to sample? Traveling with DH, DS11 & DH9. Thought the kids might like to try some of the ethnic foods?

My 12-year-old daughter and I spent a few hours enjoying the Food & Wine Festival at Epcot two days ago. The Festival is big event, lasting for about six weeks. Each day of the Festival there are book and bottle signings, cooking demonstrations, wine seminars, food and wine pairings, gourmet meals, and a concert series.

But the part of the Festival that we enjoyed was the International Marketplace. Along the pathways of the World Showcase there are about two dozen stands set up that sell tasting size portions of international foods and beverages. Most of the offerings cost between $3.00 and $6.00, so you can try lots of yummy morsels without breaking the bank. Here are a few of the offerings:

Austria: Beef goulash with a bacon dumpling; apricot cake

    Argentina: Beef and corn pie

Spain: Chilled tomato and garlic soup; seared tuna loin

India: Samosa with tamarind sauce; red curry shrimp; mango mousse

South Africa: Durban spiced chicken with coconut milk infused root vegetables; spice cake

Australia: Grilled lamb chops with caramelized onion jam

Germany: Spaetzle with mushroom ragout; apple strudel

San Francisco: Roasted beet salad with goat cheese; California strawberry shortcake

Japan: Spicy tuna roll; seaweed salad

And MANY more. We had a great time eating around the World. Hope you do too!
