We leave in 30 days for our 3.5yo son 1 trip. A couple of questions about reservations we have. We are staying at the AK L -have reser at the Whisp Canyon and Kona. I assume we take the bus - but how long should we allow ourselves to get to each? Thanks

    Hi Christopher,

How wonderful that you're coming for your sons first trip, you're going to make so many magical memories!

To get to both of your reservations you'll need to catch a bus from Animal Kingdom Lodge to the Magic Kingdom, this journey takes approximately 20 minutes but you also need to add another 20 minutes just incase you need to wait for the bus to arrive. Then to get to Kona, which is at the Polynesian, catch either the resort monorail or the Poly boat, both of which take about 10 minutes, again allow extra time for the transport to arrive. Whispering Canyon Cafe is at the Wilderness Lodge, there is a boat that goes between the resort and Magic Kingdom so jump on that. This will take between 10 and 15 minutes plus waiting time. For both journey's I would allow at least an hour probably one and a half hours to be safe, if you arrive early you can spend a little time exploring these beautiful resorts!

One thing to take into account is the time that Magic Kingdom closes on the nights you have reservations. The buses tend to run for between 1 and 2 hours after park closing so if you'll be returning after this time catch a bus to Downtown Disney or an open park and then transfer to your resort from there.

    Have a fantastic trip,

    Jo
