Hi there David,
Thanks for stopping back in at planDisney. I have to admit, my interest in the Star Wars world has always been what us sports fans consider, " a band-wagon fan". This means, I enjoy the movies and characters when a new story line would appear but it was never a passion of mine. That all changed the first time I "landed" on Batuu and entered
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge.
There are so many amazing things to love about this land including the thrilling attractions and character interactions, but hands down, I think this area takes on a completely different feel at nighttime. I was stunned at how the Imagineers created this entire world that makes me feel like I have traveled the galaxy to a planet far, far away. The incredible detail is magnified at night as the sounds of space creatures emerge and the lights bounce off the rock formations creating an environment you must see to appreciate. The nighttime photos in front of the Millennium Falcon are some of my favorite family photos of all time.
Good news is
Oga's Cantina typically offers a select number of
advance dining reservations until about one hour after theme park closing. This means if you are able to snag one of these late night reservations, you will be able to refuel at this infamous watering hole, perhaps conduct some important space trade with a smuggler or two and then head back into Batuu before the bounty hunters start asking questions. These late night reservations will give you the opportunity to snag a few late night photos before heading back to your planet, I mean
Disney Resorts hotel.
If another weary traveler happens to nudge you out of a late night reservation, you can still wander over to Batuu and enjoy the nighttime ambience as boarding calls for the final star cruiser departures do not begin until theme park closing. If you time it correctly, you can even jump into a line for a final spin on Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run just before it docks for the evening. This late night run will also give you a chance to wander the sands of Batuu with minimal interruptions by fellow travelers.
I hope this helps with your space travels. be sure to keep your head down at night though, those Storm Troopers are on the lookout for members of the Resistance. If I can help with any additional planning questions, please stop back and
see me.
May the Force Be with You,
Margaret
