Hi Bob, and thanks for visiting us at planDisney! The Contemporary Resort is one of my go-to spots for lunch or dinner on a Magic Kingdom day. It’s such a nice oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the theme parks, and has some amazing restaurants.
Now, let’s chat about parking! Guests with a dining reservation are welcome to park at Disney resort hotels for their meal, but it’s usually not intended for all-day use. Last year, one of my friends parked at the
BoardWalk Inn to eat at
The Cake Bake Shop and was given a three-hour parking pass for her car’s dashboard. I spoke to a Cast Member to double check and they said that the parking guidelines can change depending on demand and capacity.
Alternatively, you can park at Magic Kingdom’s parking lot (located at the Transportation and Ticket Center). After dinner, hop on the
monorail back to your car. For a little extra fun, you can stop at the other resort hotels on the monorail for a bar or dessert crawl!
At the Polynesian Village Resort,
Trader Sam’s always gets all the attention (and, yes, those exclusive tiki mugs are pretty cool!), but I like to get off the monorail here for the desserts! I’ll usually get a DOLE Whip from
Pineapple Lanai or
mobile order Bread Pudding from
Kona Cafe (search Kona Cafe To Go in the
My Disney Experience app). You can even bring your treats to the beach and watch
Happily Ever After or the
Electrical Water Pageant!
And, if you’re looking for something new, over at the Grand Floridian Resort, there’s a bar called
The Perch that recently opened in the lobby. I haven’t been there yet, but it looks absolutely beautiful and has some exclusive cocktails.
I hope you have a magical time at Disney World next week! And if you have any other questions, we’d love to have you back at planDisney.
