Last year we took a 4 night cruise on the Dream with our 6 year old son and this year we are considering taking a 5 night cruise out of Miami the end of January. Are we setting ourselves up for dissapointment by taking one of the smaller ships?

Welcome to the Moms Panel, Jody!
Last week Captain Mickey was in Miami to celebrate Disney Cruise Line's newest home port!  With four ships in the fleet, it is a very exciting time for Guests wishing to cruise on Disney!
This past summer, my crew set sail on a Disney Magic cruise shortly after we experienced the newest ship in the fleet, the Fantasy.  Although the Magic is a smaller vessel, my kiddos had the time of their lives on our vacation!  They couldn't get enough of the youth spaces and all the activities planned by the incredible counselors there.  As a family, we enjoyed the game shows, karaoke, nightly shows in the Walt Disney Theatre, and first-run movies in the Buena Vista Theatre!  Hours of splashtacular fun was spent on deck nine in the pools and Mickey slide as well!  The Animator's Palate  dinner on the Magic & Wonder is one of my favorites too because a magical surprise occurs in the middle of your dining experience! The Disney Cruise Line crew really does a phenomenal job of making each and every voyage magical no matter the ship or itinerary!
I hope my answer helps with your decision, Jody!  I'm sure your family will love the Wonder just as much as the Dream!  If you have any other questions about your cruise vacation, please let me know.  I'm always happy to help!
    Have a "Wonder"ful day!
