Last year I was able to note a birthday, when I was making my dining reservations. This year, I did not see the option. How do I go about noting that we have a birthday in our group, for dining reservations? And do the resorts do anything special for bdays

    Hi, Angelia!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. You're absolutely correct that in the past Guests were able to note birthdays (as well as several other types of special celebrations) when making advance dining reservations online through the Walt Disney World Resort website. However, with the current online dining reservation system, this feature is no longer available. The two kinds of requests that can be made online are for special dietary needs (food allergies) and wheelchair accessible seating.

If you'd like to make a note of a birthday celebration, I suggest calling Disney Dining at 407-WDW-DINE to speak with a Dining Cast Member who will be happy to take care of this request for you.

The Disney Resort hotels frequently recognize Guests' birthdays by leaving a magical surprise in your resort room, often in the form of a birthday card signed by Mickey Mouse and friends. On one of our visits back in 2010 when we were staying at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa (in a Theme Park View room), my 5-year-old daughter was delighted to find not only a birthday card signed by all the Disney Princesses but also a large Mickey "sculpture" made entirely out of white chocolate and accompanied by personalized wishes written in chocolate! I have to say that, as this type of elaborate birthday surprise occurred only once in all our visits, I think this is really the exception rather than the rule. Or perhaps it is something that is exclusive to the Grand Floridian.

Wishing you a magical vacation! Please let me know if I can assist you further with your planning.
