Hello! We last visited in January of 2020 (and that was our first time). Do we need magic bands for all ticketed attendees or is that not a thing anymore? Thanks!

Hey there, hi there, Amanda! Welcome!

Even though you were at Walt Disney World not that long ago, you'll notice a few new things when you visit in July. There are new restaurants, new attractions, and yes, news about those MagicBands.

We are on the verge of seeing brand new technology with the upcoming debut of MagicBand+. Featuring customizable color-changing lights, vibrations, and the ability to participate in interactive experiences, these rechargeable bands are expected to be released this summer.

In the meantime, you can now do pretty much everything right from your phone, and with the help of your My Disney Experience app and Disney MagicMobile Service. Your theme park passes can be linked to your My Disney Experience, then you can share them with anyone in your party to be added to their Apple Wallet. This will allow you to scan into the theme parks. You'll also be able to use your phone to mobile order food, access your Disney Resorts Collection hotel room, and even for Disney PhotoPass.

There are also the old-fashioned cards available for use. Right now, they are 50th Anniversary versions!

    Thanks for stopping by, Amanda!
