Our last vacation my son came down with an acute case of tonslillitis and a fever of 104F. If this were to happen in disney(we are staying at Port Orleans Riverside), is there an urgent care facility on premises?

Thanks for the question Kerri. Having a sick child while away from home is a parent's nightmare.  Walt Disney World has many health care options, in addition to trained staff. Each theme park has fully-staffed first aid stations for minor injuries and assistance. There is also the Lake Buena Vista CentraCare urgent care walk-in medical clinic, which is a few minutes from Downtown Disney and open until midnight.

Another option is having the front desk contact one of their doctors on call. One of the moms from the panel recently used this service and highly recommends it. You wait in the comfort of your room, and a doctor will come to you as quickly as possible. There is a fee for this service. If a visit to the hospital is required, Disney does provide complimentary transportation to the nearby Celebration hospital.

    Wishing you a healthy vacation!
