The last time I stayed on a Disney resort (2 yrs ago), they offered a special deal, that if I booked another dissney vacation during that stay, there was a 20% discount. I am going in a few weeks and wodered if this was offered regularly.

    Hi Mike -

The type of promotion you encountered is called a "bounceback" offer. Bouncebacks are usually communicated to guests by the placement of a special card in a hotel room. The card states that if you book another Disney trip before you check out of the trip you are on, then you will receive a discounted rate on the second trip.

Disney's use of bouncebacks in intermittent. In 2008, I made six trips to Walt Disney World and I think I had a bounceback in my room every time. It was hit or miss in 2009; and during most of my trips in 2010, I did not encounter bouncebacks. However, on my most recent trip in February 2011, I did have a bounceback card in my room.

So, to answer your question -- you might be offered a bounceback during your upcoming trip or you might not depending on the company's current promotion plan.

My one suggestion is that if you don't find a bounceback offer in your room, try stopping by the front desk. Ask a manager there if bounceback offers are currently being distributed at your resort. You never know, there's always a possibility that the previous guest took the offer and that the housekeeper forgot to replace the card. It certainly doesn't hurt to ask if there's something available to you.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that you find a bounceback!
