Hi Jackie!
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! How exciting your son will be celebrating his 6th birthday during your Walt Disney World vacation! I personally think the "Most Magical Place on Earth" is the perfect vacation destination for a birthday celebration! It sounds like you are off to a great start with the planning of his special day! I'm so sorry you are having difficulty with securing an Advanced DIning Reservation for his birthday dinner. Chef Mickey's is one of the most popular Character Dining Experiences and often books up months in advance.Unfortunately, there are not waiting lists for the Character Dining Experiences. I would recommend that you keep trying since availability may open at any time, should someone cancel their Advanced Dining Reservation.
You may also want to consider booking a breakfast at one of the Character DIning Experiences in the meantime, and then cancel if you find availability at dinner. If Chef Mickey's is unavailable at breakfast, consider dining at 'Ohana's Best Friends Breakfast, which is located at DIsney's Polynesian Resort. I have three boys myself ranging in age from eight to twelve and can honestly say that they enjoy both 'Ohana's Best Friends Breakfast and Chef Mickey's equally. At 'Ohana's Best Friends Breakfast, guests are served a breakfast feast family-style.You can expect delicious breakfast offerings such as Mickey waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon, pork sausage links, fried potatoes, plus much more. Guests are also greeted table-side by Lilo, Stitch, Mickey and Pluto. Please know that Characters are subject to change at any time. Guests may make Advanced DIning Reservations by calling (407) WDW-DINE or by
going online here. Sending pixie-dusted wishes that you're able to secure an Advanced Dining Reservation at Chef Mickey's for your son's 6th birthday! Best wishes for a
magical trip!
Happy Celebrating,
Jodie
