On our last day of vacation our plane leaves at 6:50pm. We are staying at the Port Orleans. Can you suggest a plan for our last day? Can we request a late check out at the hotel? Thanks for you input.

    Hi Katherine,

You're certainly welcome to ask about a late check-out, but in my personal experience, you are unlikely to get this. Generally the Disney resorts are booked quite full and they usually need to turn the rooms around for the next guest.  You are, however, welcome to leave your luggage with the Bell Services desk at your hotel. They'll be happy to store it in a secure location for you for the day. I do this nearly every time I visit Walt Disney World.

Once you've stowed your bags, you can enjoy one last almost full day in the parks. I typically use this time to visit any attractions I may have missed during the rest of my trip, or to have a second opportunity to experience a favorite attraction.

You could also plan something special for your last day. This might be something like a character meal, a behind the scenes tour, spa treatments, or sporting activities.

Another way to spend a last day is at Downtown Disney shopping for souvenirs or at a water park. There are showers at the water parks so you could clean up there before hopping on a plane.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know if you'd like additional suggestions.
