As a large guest, are there any size or weight restrictions that I might encounter while on the rides and attractions in the various Disney World parks. Are there certain rides, restrictions I should be aware of?

Hi, Melissa! I'm so glad you came to us with this question. Many Pooh sized people like you and I are afraid to visit a Walt Disney World theme park because of their size. I hope I can allay some of your concerns.

In order to give you a comparison you can visualize, at my heaviest, I was over 300 pounds, wearing size 24-26 clothing. Even though I've maintained 100 pound weight loss since gastric bypass surgery, I am still a plus sized gal. I also have a big guy for a husband. Even at my highest weight, there were very few attractions that were an issue. On things like Star Tours - The Adventure Continues and Soarin' Around the World, just pull the seat belt all the way out before you sit down, and it keep it low - more over your thighs than around your middle.

The other attractions that pose issues for some plus sized people are more about how your weight is distributed than it is about how heavy you are. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, for example, is super tight for my legs (I'm 5'7" tall, but have long legs). My husband, at 6'2", can't ride it at all, because his legs don't fit in the ride vehicle. Another one that can be concerning for some people is Avatar Flight of Passage. There is a test vehicle outside of the attraction that I recommend people try. Again, those I know who have had issues are all shapes and sizes, so it really depends.

I hope you have an absolutely magical visit!
