Hi Ladies. This is our first trip to Disney. We are considering a dining plan. Can you please explain its services and cost. Thanks

Dawn, I'm a big dining plan fan! I love the convenience and find it's great value for us. My brother, on the other hand, doesn't feel it meets the needs for his family of four, so prefers to pay out of pocket. I recommend costing out the various plans and seeing what works best for your family.

Guests who book Magic Your Way packages and Disney Vacation Club members can add the dining plan for their stay. Costs for all packages are based on length of stay and packages booked. You are best to call (407) WDW-DINE (939-3463) and they will give you all pricing options. For 2009, Disney has several dining options:
    - The Counter Service Dining plan includes two quick service meals and two snacks per person (ages 3 and up) per night, plus one resort refillable drink mug per person.
    - The Disney Dining plan includes one table service, one quick service and one snack per person per day (for each night stay). This is the plan I always choose, and find it exceptional value, especially when we have a few character dinners!
    - The Deluxe Dining Plan includes three meals (counter or table service), two snacks and one resort refillable drink mug per person.

Other options include Wine and Dine, Premium and Platinum packages.  Just a reminder that whatever you choose, it's always a good idea to book in advance as restaurants tend to fill up quickly.  You can reserve up to 90 days in advance.  Happy eating!
