Hi, Kimberly! At character dining experiences, the characters typically wear the same
thing year-round. For example, at Chef Mickey's,
Mickey will be dressed in his chef's whites and his toque (traditional chef's hat) even during holiday times.
I, too, love to see the Disney characters dressed up for the holidays!
Holiday-styled characters sometimes make special
appearances at some of the Walt Disney World Resorts. Last December,
Mickey and Minnie appeared at Disney's Wilderness Lodge dressed as
carolers. These appearances are not always scheduled, so you have to
rely on pixie dust if you're hoping for one of these chance encounters.
However, be sure to look at your Disney Resort's events calendar (which
you will receive upon check-in) to see if
they have any character Meet and Greets planned during your stay.
There are some outdoor Meet and Greet venues where characters might be
donning holiday-themed clothing to protect them from the cooler
temperatures of December, but this is not guaranteed, either. Check the Times
Guide as you enter each theme park to determine when and where the
characters will be appearing.
Your best best for finding Mickey and friends in holiday garb is at Mickey's
Very Merry Christmas Party. They'll
definitely be in their holiday finery then! There are several party
nights during your travel window. This is a hard ticket event (requires
separate admission from regular park tickets), but there are Advance
Purchase savings available. Get your tickets early as nights often sell
out. Happy planning and have a Magical vacation!
