Do we know if the train will be running in between November 11th and 18th? I’m a huge train fan and I haven’t been to the park in twenty years and unfortunately the train was closed when I went last time as well so I haven’t gotten to see it yet

A warm planDisney welcome to you, Thomas. Thanks for stopping by to share this question with us. It won't be long until you leave today and enter the world of yesterday, tomorrow and fantasy and I'm delighted to help out.

Like you, I also love the Disneyland Railroad. Growing up, it was a family tradition to take the Grand Circle Tour around the park to start our day. The train has been temporarily closed since August 5th and unfortunately, no announcement has been made about a reopening date. The Hours & Events Calendar is currently filled out with refurbishment information through November 16th and I see that the Disneyland Railroad is still listed as temporarily unavailable. You can check back at the Disneyland site for the train's status for November 17th and 18th in the next few days.

If the train is not available during your visit, I recommend taking a ride on the Disneyland Monorail. While it's not quite the same, I think that you'll find it quite enjoyable. You can even ask to ride in the "nose" or the first car of the monorail for an extra special treat and unique view. I was able to do this during my last visit and it was so magical.

You'll be visiting just as the Holidays at the Disneyland Resort begin. It's the merriest time of the year and the resort will be decked out in its holiday best. Keep an eye on Disney Parks Blog and @disneyland on Instagram to stay updated on all of the special offerings and festivities.

Thomas, I wish I had better news to share with you. I'll be sending all of the pixie dust your way in the hopes that the railroad will be open during your visit. Please come back to visit us with any other questions you might be curious about. Here's wishing you a magical time at the Happiest Place on Earth!
