Choo choo! All aboard and welcome to planDisney, Ryan. We're so glad you stopped by to share this question with us. It won't be long until you leave today and enter the world of yesterday, tomorrow and fantasy. So let's make sure you're ready for your visit.
I'm so delighted to hear that your toddler is fascinated with trains. Taking the Grand Circle Tour on the
Disneyland Railroad is always a must whenever I visit the Disneyland Resort. The Disneyland Railroad is currently temporarily closed and unfortunately, no reopening date has been shared at this time. I checked the
Hours & Events Calendar for the list of attractions that are closed for refurbishment and your visit date isn't quite available yet. I imagine this should be updated in the next week or so and I recommend checking back to see if the Disneyland Railroad will be operating.
If it is still temporarily closed, I recommend heading over to Fantasyland to board the
Casey Jr. Circus Train. This was one of the original attractions when Disneyland Park opened in 1955. I even took a ride during a recent visit because I was missing the Disneyland Railroad. Another great option is taking a ride on the
Disneyland Monorail. You can even request to ride in the "nose" or the front car of the monorail for an extra special experience. I was able to do this during my last visit and it was so much fun with such a unique view.
Ryan, while I wish I had a better answer to share with you, I hope the information and suggestions are helpful. Most of all, I hope that the Disneyland Railroad will be operating during your visit. I'll be sending all the pixie dust your way. Here's wishing you a magical time at the Happiest Place on Earth!
